This park has long gravel pull thrus which are relatively level and a number of the sites have mature shade trees. As others have said, the front part of the park is noisy due to freeway traffic at all hours of the day and night. So, if you are a light sleeper don't stay in any sites near the front of the park. The park was clean including restrooms and laundry facilities. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance and a super Wal-Mart less than 2 miles away with diesel. This is a good place for a one or two day stay when visiting North Platte. We would stay here again. Rate included taxes with a good Sam discount.

This KOA was a pleasant surprise from other typical KOAs. The RV sites were generally well spaced with gravel pads. It is built on the side of a hill so some sites were not completely level. WIFI signal was good; there was no cable TV. The park was clean and improvements were being made. The managers were polite and very helpful. We definitely would stay here again when in the area.

Wow-what can I say-beautiful surroundings, clean campground, and spacious sites with large Ponderosa Pines in a number of the camping areas! This was one of the best parks we have ever camped in. We spent 8 days here and enjoyed every minute of it except for the nightly storms! Managers and workers were especially helpful in determining which camping area and site would best suit our needs and accommodate our rig! As someone else suggested, be sure and look at a map of the campground since there are several different camping areas ranging from wide-open pull thru RV sites with full hookups, shaded back-in RV sites with full hookups, back-in RV sites with water and electricity only and popup and tent sites. There are plenty of things in the area to see and do as well as in the campground. As several others have said, some of the sites are not very level due to the terrain the park is built on, and the WIFI signal is weak in some of the camping areas. Also, some areas do not have their own shower/restroom or washing facilities located within reasonable walking distance. Don't miss trying the pancake breakfast-it is great and very reasonably priced! The campground also has a store with groceries, ice cream shop and some RV supplies. We would have rated this a 10 had restroom/shower and laundry facilities been near each camping area. Nightly rate was for a 50 amp site with full hookups and Good Sam discount.

We stayed here overnight while passing thru. Park was clean, had asphalt pads and roads and sites were generally well spaced. Most of the tables were covered and most of the sites had some shade. As with most Texas State Parks, a number of the sites would not be suitable for big rigs. The park is located adjacent to a wildlife management area, so there are plenty of deer and turkey in the park. The park also has several miles of river frontage suitable for tubing or fishing. We would definitely stay in this park again.

This RV park is located about a quarter of a mile off I-25 and can easily be accessed from the interstate. There is some road noise from the freeway but nothing excessive. The park has long gravel pull throughs and adequate spacing between sites. It offers a number of activities for the family which seemed to be priced a little high. There is a restaurant operated on site and a small grocery and souvenir shop. WIFI signal was good. Overall, this is a good park for an overnight stay. Park staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again when passing through. Price shown was for 4 people with a Good Sam discount.

This is one campground of several campgrounds located at Lake Murray State Park, the oldest and largest state park in Oklahoma. This campground as well as others in this park are heavily used and take no reservations. If you don't arrive early on Friday for the weekend during the summer you probably will not get an RV site. Holiday weekends apparently are completely full several days before the holiday. Approximately one-half of the sites have full hookups, with concrete pads and are pull thrus. Some are located along the lake shore. The remainder of the sites are back-in which would be difficult for big rigs to get into. This park was very crowded and I only saw one bathouse/restroom for this campground. It also has a boat launch. The dump station is not easily accessible for big rigs; fortunately there are other dump stations in the park that are somewhat more accessible and available to use. Camp hosts and park personnel were friendly and helpful. This park also has a golf course. We would probably stay here again if passing through. I would have rated this park higher if the campground had been spread over a greater area, the back-in sites were easier to back into and the park accepted reservations. The rate was for a 30 amp service hookup.

This is a small RV park located along the Pecos River in the city of Carlsbad. It had a number of long term campers in it during our stay. There are several back-in sites along the river and two level, gravel shaded pull-thru sites for short term stays. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Their convenience store is located adjacent to the park which is handy. The WI-FI signal and cable TV were very good. The only drawback to this park besides the limited number of spaces available for campers is that it is located along a thoroughfare through Carlsbad, and truck and car traffic are heavy 24/7. The road noise is very noticeable and bothersome(at least to us) at the pull-thru sites which are about 150 feet from the road. Noise level would probably be acceptable further into the park. This park is convenient if you are visiting or have business in Carlsbad, but we probably would not stay here again when just visiting the caverns. I would have rated this park higher if road noise had not been so loud.

This is a small campground adjacent to a family owned motel in a small quaint town. Most of the sites are back-in with gravel pads. Some of the sites are pull-thrus with gravel pads for smaller rigs. The sites are typically spaced for a commercial campground. The campground has a small swimming pool across the street at the motel that is available to campers. There are no fire rings or grills at each site and some of the picnic tables are in need of repair or replacement. The positives of this campground are it is quiet and very shady with large mature trees while the negatives are the WI-FI signal is weak and the gnats are terrible especially in the evenings. There are some long term campers in the campground. The owners were friendly and helpful. The campground is located about 4 miles off the interstate, but it is easily accessible. The rate listed is for four persons.

This is a nice campground just off I-20. Most of the rv pads are concrete and pretty level, although a few had deteriorated somewhat. They are typically spaced for a commercial park with each pull thru separated by a wooden privacy fence; there are no trees on the pull thrus. Sites also have concrete patio pads. The camp has WI-FI, but it has a weak signal and I could not connect while inside the rv. It is evident that the owners have worked hard to upgrade the park by adding nice landscaping, what looks to be a new pool, several camp buildings available for guests to use and new rv pads. It also has a desktop computer with internet access for those who don't have laptops as well as free washers and dryers. The park is relatively quite except for the background noise from the interstate which cannot be seen from the campground. The camp operators are friendly and helpful. I would have rated this park higher, but I prefer more space between sites and some shade. We would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the nicest state parks we have camped in. The sites are spacious, shaded and equipped with tables, fire rings, cable TV besides water and electricity. The campground area is gated and requires a pass code to enter. It is very quiet and peaceful. The rv pads are crushed rock and relatively level; most have tent pads also. The pull thrus for big rigs are located on a slight hill. There was evidence that on at least one of the pull thrus, large rv's had scraped the bottom of their rigs when driving up into the pull thru. There are approximately 8 back-in sites that are designated for rv's over 25 feet. Some of these sites may be difficult for newbies to get into as backing around trees is required. If you have a big rig, a reservation is probably necessary especially on weekends! There is a lot to do at the park including fishing, hiking, tennis and swimming in the lake. There's also a lodge and restaurant at the park. We would definitely stay at this park again.

This is a small campground which is part of a truck stop. The campground and truck stop are separated by about a block. The campground is conveniently located just off the interstate, there is some freeway noise, but it was not bothersome to us. There is also a railroad track about 400 yards behind the campground. There were a number of trains which passed by during the night. If you are a light sleeper, you would probably be disturbed. There are trees in the campground; however, it appears that most of these sites are being used by long term residents. There was no pool or any other activity for the kids. Pull thrus were concrete pads, with a separate concrete pad and a picnic table at each site. The sites were very close together. The campground area was clean and some landscaping was present at the pull thru sites. There was no attendant in the office the entire time we were at the campground. However, when we called to check on availability of sites, the lady answering the phone was helpful and courteous. Overall, this campground is okay for an overnight stay; we might stay there again if passing through the area but would not go out of our way just to stay at this campground.

This park has easy on/off access to I-20. Park has gravel roads and pull thrus, but no shade whatsoever. The sites are extremely narrow but long. The electrical and water connections are located in the middle of the site which could make it difficult to put out multiple slides for big rigs. The park was clean and the staff helpful. This is a good campground to spend the night while traveling on I-20. You can select a site without cable TV which makes the nightly rate a little cheaper. Would stay at this park again while traveling on I-20.

The sites at this park are very large, shaded and well spaced. A number of the rv sites were sloped especially around the lake; pads could have been leveled better and had more gravel base. Lots to do at this park for kids. The park was well maintained, clean and quiet. This is a good centrally located park to visit a number of the NASCAR garages, museums, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the premium sites along the creek. This gives you more space behind your campsite since another site is not behind you. This is a typical commercial campground with relative small sites; pads are made from crushed rock; and are pretty level. There are trees and grass at each site. The park is quiet. I also talked with several campers who had tried other parks in the area and they said that this was the quietest park in the area. The trolley runs through the park to pickup campers, but it only runs to the central station. You then have to catch another trolley and pay again to go to any other attraction in Pigeon Forge. I would have rated this park higher if the sites had been larger. We would probably stay here again if we wanted to visit Pigeon Forge. If we wanted to visit the National Park only we would probably camp somewhere else possibly in Towsend.

Campground has very wide sites with a lot of large, mature shade trees. The pull thrus are grass; however, there appears to be a rock base under the grass. Campground is very clean and neat; a beautiful mountain stream runs along the back of the campground. There is some traffic noise from the highway especially at the pull thru sites, but the traffic dies down at night and did not disturb us. There are a number of seasonal campers in the park. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at this campground again.

This park is very large (over 2,000 acres) and consists of several units and a trailway connecting the two units. The birch creek unit has overnight camping for rvs and tent camping while the Nails Creek unit is a day use only facility. All rv sites have water and electricity and the majority of the rv sites are well shaded and spaced. There are no pull thru sites and none have sewer hookups, although dump stations are conveniently located on each camping loop. The roads are all asphalt and in good condition, although a little tree trimming on some of the roads would be helpful. Some of the campsites have views of Lake Somerville and a few (less than 15) are located where boats could be pulled up on shore within several hundred yards of the campsite. About 15% of the sites have been updated to include new asphalt pads and concrete walks, fire rings, etc. All sites have asphalt pads, fire rings and picnic tables; however, not all picnic tables have covers. In general, this park is good for relaxing, hiking and fishing and is generally very quite except on holiday weekends when it is usually full. We have been to this park a number of times and will definitely go back.

This is a great park for those who want to hike or bicycle or have a safe place for their kids to ride and play. It is quiet, but there is some road noise from a main highway about 2 miles away, but nothing objectionable. Some of the sites were a little closer together than you find in most state parks. While this park is listed as Big Rig friendly, I am guessing that about 30% of the sites would not accommodate rigs in excess of 37 feet. The park staff was friendly and helpful. The park is connected by a beautiful winding and hilly road to Bastrop State Park about 12 miles away. This park road is narrow with blind curves and low overhead clearance, so fifth wheelers and motorhomes beware. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience and we will definitely return again.

This park is located on Lake Belton and is convenient to both Belton and Temple. It is quiet with most sites being shaded; however, there are a few sites that are open and they could get warm during the summer. The park is usually full on weekends, so make reservations in advance especially in the summer. The asphalt roads could stand some maintenance but overall not bad. The sites are well spaced with picnic tables, fire rings and charcoal grills at each site. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. Wal-Mart Supercenter which has diesel is only a several miles away and there are places to shop and eat nearby in Belton and Temple. The park has a boat launch, a laundry room and a group shelter that is air conditioned. We have stayed in this park several times and love it and will definitely stay there again.
